Scoring Notes

May 2013

As announced by the Committee Boat and the Judge in the 2007 season, we will continue to use Rule A9 and scoring will occur as follows:

DNS, DNF and DSQ: A yacht coming to the starting area to sail but not starting (DNS) will be given 1 more point than the number of yachts coming to the starting area. This rule also applies to DNF and DSQ. Therefore, if 9 boats come to race but only 8 start, the DNS boat will receive 10 points as would the DNF and DSQ boats.
DNC: A yacht not coming to the starting area will be given 2 more points than the number of yachts coming to the starting area. Therefore, if 9 boats come to sail, those that don't will receive 11 points.

Definitions:

DNC: "Did Not Come" This means your boat never made it to the vicinity of the start.
DNS: "Did Not Start" This means you came to the race area to sail but, for whatever reason, you did not make a proper start.
DNF: "Did Not Finish" This means you started the race but did not finish.
DSQ: "Disqualified"
